Crazy World
I was talking to our dr.'s receptionist the other day, and she always recognizes my voice right away. This time was no different, so as soon as she did, she said, "I hear you're going to Africa, or have you gone already?" I said, "No, we haven't left yet. We will eventually be moving there, but in February, Alan, Brendin, and myself will be travelling to Togo, West Africa, for about 3 weeks." She said, "Oh, that's just CRAZY, eh?" My response was, "You know what's CRAZY is all the preparations that have to be made BEFORE we actually leave!!!" It's true! We have to become human pin cushions in the next week or so. That's ok. I can live with that, I guess. The cost involved is outrageous!! Just to get in to the community health centre is $50/each. Yellowfever is $100/each. Hepatitis A and B (also known as Twin Rex) is 3 sets each person at $60 each needle, each person. With the last needle, you can take one 1 week, another the following week, and the 3rd a few months later. Each time you go in is $15/a person. For the next month or so, we will continue to have our benefits, so the cost will be lower for the 3 of us going in February. And I KNOW that the Lord will meet those needs. Not a problem. My problem is mostly this: We were reading online, and apparently, in Canada, they offer for FREE the Twin Rex needles to those who live immoral lives, such as drug abusers and others who live in sin. What a crazy world we live in!!!
Didn't mean to rant, just sometimes, I don't get it!!
Psalm 113:1, 2
Have a wonderful day!
Love,
Ida
