The Most Perfect Afternoon
Yesterday was the most perfect afternoon! Alan usually tries to take Mondays off. But this week, Pastor Eagles was here and they worked together all day Monday. So he took Tuesday off instead. The day started off by our sleeping in a bit, as we had delivered papers that morning. Then, after a lazy morning and a little lunch, we went fishing. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We went on the pier that is located under the Skyway Bridge. There weren't many people there, so the six of us were able to spread our things out and make ourselves at home. The sky was a beautiful blue colour, there were a few nice, puffy clouds, but not many, and just a slight breeze was blowing. Just enough to keep us from getting overly hot. We didn't catch much, but it was VERY relaxing.
The day ended with Brendin having a practice for a baseball tournament his team will be competing in this weekend; and Austin and Alan (the coach for Austin's team) having a baseball game at 6p.m. Austin played really well for being extrememly exhausted. This game was the playoffs. Since their team was the first-place team, they had to play the last-place team. The championship game will be on the 12th. It was a great game to watch. they ended up winning 15-4. I always enjoy watching our boys play. I am really proud of this team. There just happened to be a lot of younger children this year, and many of our older power hitters had outgrown this level. The first game they played was an exhibition game, but they lost something like 20-4 or something like that. Sorry, I don't remember the exact score, Anyway, they have really "stepped up to the plate", and done a wonderful job!! I am very proud of these young ones! I have not been able to see too many of their games, but am always excited to hear of the great plays involved.
So, it was a wonderful day, and I am extremely thankful that the Lord just allowed us to take that day and get refreshed.
Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Psalm 113:1,2.
Have a great day,
Love,
Ida
