Tired...But Having Fun
Hello, Everyone!! I know I say this all the time, but I really appreciate your prayers!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just don't want to take them for granted.
Right now, we are enjoying a lazy Canada Day with Jason Massecar, the son of our good friends, Marvin and Marlene. We are in the big city of Russell, Manitoba. Jason is an RCMP, so we have had LOTS of questions about his job. IT SOUNDS REALLY NEAT!! Anyway, we left Sault St. Marie on Tuesday morning and arrived in Grand Forks, North Dakota, that night. After 13 hours of driving, we were ready to stop for the night. I had booked a room that offers a prophet's chamber for FREE to missionaries and pastors. It was a REALLY NICE room!! We thank the Lord for places like these that want to be a blessing. It definitely was!! Then the next morning at 11, we went on to Winnipeg, Manitoba. That only took about 2 1/2 hours from where we were. We went to church at Berean Baptist Church where Pastor Chris Haley and his wife Karen have been ministering for the last 11 years. If you are ever in the area and want a good church to attend, I HIGHLY recommend this one. They have such a great spirit, and it is VERY OBVIOUS that they LOVE missionaries!! Alan and Mrs. Haley have known each other for many years, but I had never really gotten to know her. Her sister, Jennifer Rutherford is a very good friend of mine. Anyway, we had such a wonderful time of fellowship after church. We laughed. A LOT. It was great fun. Time got away from us, and we did not get into our hotel rooms (the church put us up in TWO rooms)until midnight. I am not normally a real night owl, but more often than not, we are having late nights. That's o.k., though. Like I said, we are having a fantastic time!! So today we hit the road at around 9 this morning, and we reached Russell at about 12:45. We picked Jason up and went and got a bite to eat, then we drove to Inglis where we were able to watch a parade for about 10 minutes. After that, we drove over to a lake with a concession stand, where we had ice cream cones and put our feet into the water. It was really relaxing!! So that is where we are now. Tired...but having fun!! We plan on leaving early in the morning and try to reach Trail, B.C., tomorrow. Yeah...we'll see how that goes.:)
We praise the Lord for being so good to us. He has met EVERY need that arose, and helped us jump any hurdle to get this far. And I am so very thankful for the people He places in our path to be a blessing. We (I) are truly UNDESERVING!!
Have a Wonderful day,
Psalm 113:1,2
Love,
Ida
