An Unwelcome Guest
Hello, Everyone! Thanks for thinking of us! We are in the beautiful state of Idaho right now, and are keeping busy. Thanks so much for your prayers! I think I forgot to tell you that New Testament Baptist Church picked us up for support starting this month! Praise the Lord!
So now to tell you about our unwelcome guest/s. I believe it was around the time that we were in Montrose when we picked up some mice in the VAN!! I had never heard of anything like that before, but I think they got in from under the hood. I first noticed it in the glove box where I usually keep a stash of napkins. The stack of napkins was all chewed through. Well, if you know me at all, you will know that besides Mickey Mouse, I cannot STAND mice of any kind! So now I am on a mission to get rid of those pesky critters. We took most of the seats out of the van, and vacuumed it all out. I didn't think there would be much garbage in the van because when we have to eat in it, the kids are really good at passing their garbage up to me, and then I will throw it out at our next stop. But I was surprised at all the little pieces of garbage left. So we got it all nice and clean and then I went shopping for some "mouse food". I put some under each seat and in the little storage compartment in the back, where I had seen evidence of them. Then I went back up to the glove box, and I realized that there were more coming in through there, because a "door" was off. I had not realized that it was not supposed to be open like that. So I found the part (it is just like the part of the back of a remote to keep the batteries in) and put it back, but not before throwing in some food. I heard the food fall a little ways and then land at the black partition that separates the inside of the van from the engine. About where my feet are. Then I think I saw a nest through a vent. There was quite a bit of chewed up napkins in there. Well, it has now been a few days, and every once in a while I have to replace a chunk of food, but not very often. So that is a good sign. All I can say is..."Here, mousy, mousy, mousy!!" Well, I better get going...I got me a varmint to catch and then help the fellas up on top of the house. It looks like it's gonna be a fun morning!!
Have a Wonderful Day,
Psalm 113:1,2
Love,
Ida
