Bethany and Austin

Bethany and Austin have landed a job for the week (with their parents' help). Our friends who have a Spectator Route (the Hamilton Paper) are away for a week. So while Em and Bren are away at camp, the rest of us get to get up at about 2:45 a.m. every day to deliver the papers. I am VERY proud of them. This is pretty much the first time that Beth has had much of a responsibilty outside of setting the table and doing some laundry. She slept through two days of the route (we must address her work ethic:0); at the same time, she IS only 6!!!). The rest of the days she helped roll and band the papers, hold the flashlight for me, and even delivered them. She did a wonderful job when she worked!! Austin is our athletic one, and we really depend on his speediness. He does a great job, but sometimes he forgets the house numbers. Oh, well, he is only 9. I am really proud of them. They would get up when they were supposed to, have a bowl of cereal, and then work. Yesterday, it had started spitting rain, and Beth said, "It won't rain for long. I asked God to keep it dry for us." It stopped spitting. It just seemed to only do it for that one particular house. It rained buckets today for most of the time, so Austin and I got drenched. I had prayed all week long that God would hold back the rain for us, and He did until today. I learned that I would not melt. It actually kept me nice and cool:0). We only have two more days of delivering, and Brendin and Emily will be helping, so it will go even faster. Austin chose to use his cut of the money to buy a camera. Mrs. McClain had wisely advised our children to journal their travelling experience, and he really took it to heart. He is becoming quite the little shutter bug, with the dog being his main model. I was sitting on the steps yesterday talking on the phone when Austin aimed the camera on me (or so I thought). So I smiled and he snapped a shot. He very excitedly called out, "That's a GREAT picture!" So I gestured to him to let me see it. It was a picture of the dog and my feet!! (See Austin's blog for a picture of Abigail the dog).

Well, Brendin and Emily come home today, and I can hardly wait, although they will most likely be BEARS from exhaustion. Oh, well, I heard they had a great week at camp!!
Psalm 113:1,2
Have a wonderful day,
Ida
