Another Prayer Request

Hi, there Friends! Thanks for checking in on us! Alan was able to book 2 more meetings today! Yay!
I do have a prayer request. I may be jumping the gun a little bit, but in my heart, I would feel better if we knew SOMETHING. Sometime last summer, probably around June, I applied for my Canadian Citizenship. For years, we kept telling ourselves that I really needed to get it done, but...we just didn't. Well, the time has come where it HAS to get done. So, I send in the application, and according to the website, it takes from 12-15 months. However, in talking to others who have recently received theirs, it takes less time than that. And that is not a bad problem. As a matter of fact that would be great if it could happen BEFORE all this travelling takes place. The problem is that we need to start getting our visas for Ghana. Alan and Brendin can get theirs in Toronto. No problem. But because I am a U.S. citizen, I would have to mail my passport to Washington D.C., have them insert the visa, and then wait for it to get mailed back to me. The other thing is that, according to these other people who have just gotten their Canadian citizenship, once the applicant receives the study booklet, there will be a test, and then if the test is passed, there will be a ceremony in which the applicant has to be sworn in. All of this is within a few weeks of each other. I have already received the booklet (it came in December), but no other information as to when the test will be and such. I know that these governmental things take time, but it would be great to have some dates to work around. If I pass the test, then I would go to the ceremony. THEN I would have to apply for my Canadian passport, and then get a visa for that passport. And then I wouldn't have to send my U.S. passport over the border, I could just go with the guys and get my visa in Toronto. I think maybe I am worrying for nothing, so that is why I am asking for your prayers. I know the Lord is in control...I just have to allow Him to do the controlling!! If this doesn't make sense to you, I am sorry. It seemed to make a lot more sense in my head;0)
Have a great night!!
Psalm 113:1,2
Love,
Ida
